- Unit 3: Applying the Principles of Personal Training
- Unit 6: Leading Sports Activities

They will explore different areas of fitness such as the components of fitness, how fitness is tested, what training methods can be used to improve fitness and what principles of training are required for the successful improvements in fitness. Students will be assessed via an external exam which will take place on a computer at a time and date suitable for the students. This is worth 25% of their overall grade.
For unit 2, students will explore in depth two sports. They will delve into the rules, regulations and scoring systems of these sports as well as the roles and responsibilities of each official and the techniques and tactics that can be used in competitive situations. Students are required to have a good sporting ability within these sports as they will go on to perform in both for assessment before evaluating their performance.
For unit 3, students will explore the requirements for successfully producing a fitness programme and go on to produce a 6-week plan which they will complete and evaluate. This unit is all about how to improve fitness and attempting to do this. Students should be able to get fitter if they plan this unit well and complete it to the best of their ability.
For unit 6, students will explore the requirements to successful coaching before going on to plan and lead their own session. Students will lead a session, alone, to a group for assessment and then go on to evaluate their performances. This unit will provide students with a new fond confidence to lead sessions in the future too.
