OUR CURRICULUM

Special Needs

At Ruskin, we have a whole school approach to ensuring that individual needs are met.

Under the direction of Mrs Gale, we have a dedicated and well trained team of staff. These staff include:

  • Teaching Assistants
  • A Learning Mentor
  • An Attendance Officer
  • Intervention Co-ordinators for Key Stage 3 and 4

We identify students who would benefit from extra support and we liaise with subject teachers and pastoral staff to ensure that individual needs are met. We ensure that students and parents/carers are involved in the support process.

We have good relationships with our partner primary schools and we share relevant information to ensure that transition is effective.

We really value our relationship with parents and carers. We welcome parents’ input.
