Applying for a school place

Prospective parents may be aware that we are oversubscribed for September 2017. Whilst this is excellent news, we recognise that some parents and children will have been informed that there is a risk that there may not be a place available at Ruskin.

If this is the case, please contact us at school so that we can advise you of the process going forward.

The person to ring is Dean Postlethwaite and the number is 01270 560514 or 07775862626.

Many thanks Ella Brett - Headteacher

Applying for School Places 2017-18

Please note for 2017 applications: If you are not resident in Cheshire East, but live in another English Local Authority, you must apply via your home local authority even if your preference is for a Cheshire East school. If you are resident in Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales, you may apply direct to Cheshire East using this application form.  Information for overseas residents is available on our Advice and Guidance page.

In year admissions

Applications for school places ‘In Year’ are for admission during the school year into any year group, other than the normal point of entry i.e. entry to reception and Year 7 each September.

Our in year admissions booklet has information about the process of applying for school places 'In Year'. Information about our schools appears in our primary and secondary school supplements.

Please note: applications will not normally be accepted more than 6 school weeks prior to requested date of admission. An exception to this is application during the summer term for admission at the beginning of the following September. In this case, applications will be accepted up to 8 school weeks prior to intended date of admission.

Applications for In year admissions

In order to ensure that a place is offered at a suitable school as quickly as possible, some applications will be processed in accordance with the Local Authority's 'fair access protocol'. If this applies to your application you will be contacted and provided with more information about this process.
