Attendance is a key component to your child’s success

Our curriculum is designed to underpin our school values of:

Pupils benefit from the school’s determination to expand their horizons, such as through trips and visits.

Respect

Students will understand the economic, environmental, ethical, religious and socio-cultural influences on food availability, diet and health choices.

The D&T curriculum seeks for students to consider ethical issues whilst learning about the impact of a solution on a user’s lifestyle, on society, and on the environment.

Regular group work encourages mutual respect, tolerance and the understanding of the feelings of others.

High Aspirations

Through innovative and inspirational experiences, students will develop independent and confident practice both in practical and theoretical lessons.

Students develop confidence in working in new environments with new equipment, building
skill and knowledge.

We provide a safe environment in which students can be innovative, take risks, become more resourceful, be enterprising and develop as capable learners being able to learn a range of new skills and to learn if they fail, turning failure into success.

Confidence

Design and Technology education makes a unique and valuable contribution to the education and preparation for students’ future lives for work
and or leisure.
Students will achieve their expectations in a creative and innovative way, overcoming difficulties and promoting resilience within the kitchens and workshops.
Through our curriculum, we support students to develop their creativity and offer a variety of opportunities, in and out of the classroom.
