Ruskin High School is a Good School

A monitoring and inspection visit was carried out by HMI at Ruskin High School on the 9th and 10th June 2015.

The School are delighted to share the news of our recent inspection with you.  The School was judged to be a 'Good' school.

This is thoroughly well deserved, and sincere thanks go to all students, staff, parents and Governors for supporting the school in achieving this.  This will provide a strong platform on which we can build quickly.

Headteacher's Letter (86KB PDF) and the HMI Letter (61KB PDF).

The Main findings show:

  • The senior leaders and governors have worked very hard and successfully to establish an outward-looking culture of high expectations of [all] that is accepted across the school.
  • The large majority of pupils and different groups currently in the school are making and in some cases exceeding expected progress.
  • Middle leaders are making an increasingly effective contribution to the school's improvement
  • Governors are an asset to the school.  They have deep knowledge of its strenghts and areas for development because they are frequent visitors to the school and involve themselves with increasing confidence in all aspects of its work.
